Véronique Degroot is Senior Lecturer at the École française d’Extrême-Orient. Former curator at the National Museum of Ethnology (Leiden, the Netherlands), she has been carrying out archaeological fieldwork in Indonesia since the early 2000s, in partnership with the Pusat Penelitian Arkeologi Nasional (now BRIN). Her current research focuses on Bumiayu (South Sumatra) and early Hindu-Buddhist sites in North Central Java.
