Naoko Ito, Ph.D., is a Lecturer and Associate Professor at Hiroshima University. She has an educational background with a Master of Arts degree from Taisho University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from The Graduate University for Advanced Studies. Her research interests include Humanities, Art Studies, and Fine Art History in Indonesia, especially Srivijaya. Naoko has contributed to various scholarly publications, including research on priests’ handbells in various Asian countries, wealth deities in Indonesian Buddhism, and various studies on Buddhist art in Indonesia, especially related to Java and Sumatra. In addition, she is active in international seminars and has experience in educational organizations and the protection of historical objects in various cities in Japan such as Shobara and Higashihiroshima.
