Wahyu Widdodo earned his doctoral degree at Leiden University, the Netherlands, on April 10, 2025, with a dissertation titled “The Unseen Saints of Islam: Sufi Ritual and Religious Worldmaking in Java.” Since 2011, he has been a permanent lecturer at the Faculty of Cultural Studies, Universitas Brawijaya, Malang.
